Cumberland Trail Mountain Race

Tough. Technical. Rugged.

The Cumberland Trail Mountain Races are tough, technical, and rugged “point-to-point” trail races along the New River section of the Cumberland Trail (CT). The 50K race starts at the CT’s Cave Branch trailhead and follows 90%+ single-track trail to finish at Cove Lake State Park. It is a challenging course with over 7000 feet of elevation gain! Runners in both distances will be treated to miles of technical singletrack with unique rock formations, seasonal mountain streams, scenic vistas and the chance of elk sightings.

Protection and Preservation

The Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail State Scenic Trail State Park, a Tennessee scenic hiking trail, became Tennessee’s 53rd state park in 1998. While still under development, once completed, the hiking trail will extend 282 miles from Cumberland Gap, on the Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky border to the Tennessee River gorge, on the Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia border.

We are proud to donate proceeds from the race to benefit the Friends of the Cumberland Trail, for the protection and preservation of the Cumberland Trail.
